Roberta Speight from Clinton Maryland began her painting as a young girl. She started with drawing portraits of family then friends and co-workers. Roberta loves to experiment with colors and mix mediums. In the last five years, Roberta has continued to grow and think outside the box with trying new techniques with her art. Roberta believes that life is art and it holds the beauty of its own with no apologies.

STATEMENT

I’m inspired by the love of my mom who passed away from breast cancer in 2007. She always told me to do what makes me happy, and creating makes me happy. My purpose is that when I create a piece It speaks to the viewer in a way that relates to their heart and soul.
