O Yemi has art exhibitions across the world including 2021 Global Art Festival Exhibition by Elisabeth Jones Art Center, Portland Oregon, USA; 2020 “Women can save the World” International Exhibition by AIAPI, at Trento, Italy; 2020 “Art Revolution Taipei 2020 International Exhibition, Taipei, Taiwan.
He received numerous awards and recognitions. His work was awarded Best Show Award in fine art with his work “GELE : Vintage and Modern Winter 2021by Creative Quarterly Magazine in QC64 Issue. “The Artist of the Future Award” by the Contemporary International Magazine in November 2020 and Best in Show winner by Tall Sequoia Gallery His works are one of the top 25 in the Fine Art category of CQ Magazine and awarded 100 Best Annual 2019 Fine Arts Award Certificate.
STATEMENT
I am a Nigerian born, American-trained Artist, currently residing in the United Kingdom as an artist with a creative and unique personal style. Most of my recent paintings were influenced by the political and social upheaval of our world today and the works of Renaissance artists.
The theme of my work is "The Facts of Life: Roses and Thorns." Life is roses and thorns; sometimes it emanates the sweet aroma of pleasantness and sometimes it pricks and causes pains. I often use Roses and Thorns for portrait paintings of the facts of life of people. Roses depict positive parts of life and Thorns are painful challenges and negative parts of life. Since then I have adopted this floral iconography style.
A Virtuous Woman My Mother
My Mother raised 8 children of her own and about 10 children of other people that are less fortunate.
Lady Merete of Norway
Merete is a young Norwegian artist that I painted like the Queen of France, Elizabeth of Austria painted in 1571 by the French Renaissance artist – Clouet Francois as the reference for the “Lady Merete of Norway.” Merete's passion for arts made me paint as a FEMME Champion.
