Raku Ceramic and Wire, 18 x 12 x 5 in.,  2019
 
"“Cybela” Mother earth, watches over our planet. We are her guardians, failing by global warming caused by man. I pray to mother earth for protection from extinction. My Raku sculpture is made by burning into it horse hair and various glazes. The lines on the face are like blood veins, reflecting the energy of the branches made from wire. When displaying on white, with proper light, the shadows from the light through the branches become part of this piece and it has its own presence."
